NIC Accreditation Show Cause Extended Through 2024

North Idaho College continued to operate under its show-cause sanction through 2024 as it worked to demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities had given the college until October 2024 to show progress on governance reforms.

Throughout the year, the college administration worked to resolve outstanding litigation, establish effective board governance procedures, and rebuild trust with faculty and students who had passed multiple votes of no confidence during the crisis years.

The college had spent more than $500,000 on legal fees related to the governance turmoil, including payments to multiple attorneys, board training through the Association of Community College Trustees, and settlements related to various lawsuits.
