Rathdrum Police Officer and Civilian Hospitalized After Intersection Crash on Highway 41
A Rathdrum Police Department officer and a civilian were both transported to Kootenai Health by ambulance Sunday afternoon after a collision at the intersection of Highway 41 and Lancaster Road. The crash occurred at approximately 2:58 p.m. on May 10.
Department officials said the officer was responding to an active call for service when the patrol vehicle struck a civilian vehicle in the intersection. Both individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment. No further details regarding the severity of injuries were immediately available.
The Rathdrum area has seen a number of public safety incidents in recent weeks. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking tips regarding a horse shot in Rathdrum, and the region recently saw a leadership change as Jon Fugitt accepted the position of Coeur d’Alene Fire Chief.
