Crunch Franchise Brings State-of-the-Art Crunch 3.0 Gym to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Crunch Fitness to Open 30,000-Square-Foot Gym in Coeur d’Alene This Fall

A major national fitness franchise is heading to North Idaho. Crunch Fitness, operated locally by franchisee Fit Fusion, has announced plans to open a new location at 101 E. Appleway Ave. in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with doors expected to open in fall 2026. Pre-sales for memberships are set to begin this summer, giving Kootenai County residents an early look at what the facility will offer.

A Major Investment in North Idaho Fitness

The Coeur d’Alene location represents a $5 million investment and will span 30,000 square feet, making it one of the larger fitness facilities in the Panhandle region. The gym will debut Crunch’s newest “3.0” design concept, which blends updated aesthetics with expanded functional features. The format is designed to combine serious fitness programming with an entertainment-forward atmosphere — a philosophy the brand has built its national reputation around.

Fit Fusion, the franchisee behind the project, currently owns and operates 15 Crunch locations across the country. The Coeur d’Alene gym will mark the company’s first Idaho footprint, though Fit Fusion has indicated it plans to add more locations across the region before the end of the year.

Why Coeur d’Alene

Fit Fusion’s Marketing and Communications Manager Tiffany Levine pointed to North Idaho’s rapid population growth and outdoor lifestyle as key factors behind the expansion decision. “North Idaho is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, and it’s easy to see why,” Levine said. “Coeur d’Alene’s health-conscious, outdoor-driven community lives for the lake, the trails, and the slopes.”

She added that the gym aims to support that active lifestyle by offering fitness and recovery resources that help residents stay active year-round. The “No Judgments” philosophy Crunch has long promoted is central to the brand’s identity — the chain positions itself as a gym for all fitness levels and goals, drawing in members who might be intimidated by more competitive gym environments.

North Idaho has seen substantial population growth over the past several years, with Coeur d’Alene and surrounding communities like Post Falls and Hayden absorbing waves of new residents from out of state. That demographic shift has brought increased demand for retail, dining, and fitness options throughout Kootenai County — and national brands have taken notice. As Kootenai County continues to grow, commercial development — including fitness, healthcare, and retail — remains a closely watched topic for both longtime residents and newcomers.
