The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an elderly woman found inside her Post Falls home as a homicide, following a welfare check Friday evening on the 2900 block of East Hope Avenue in Post Falls, Idaho.
Deputies responded around 7:15 p.m. after someone who had not seen the woman for several days requested the check. Upon arrival, detectives noticed suspicious circumstances outside the residence before locating the woman dead inside.
Investigators worked through the night to process the scene. The sheriff’s office is withholding certain details to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
