A three-story home near Waverly Loop in Hayden Lake went up in flames Friday evening, triggering a coordinated response from multiple firefighting agencies and aerial crews before the blaze was brought under control. Firefighters were alerted to the structure fire at approximately 5:40 p.m. and arrived to find the home fully engulfed.
Fire Climbs Hillside Above the Home
The blaze did not stay contained to the structure. Flames spread up the hillside above the home, igniting a wildland fire that required additional resources. The Northern Lakes Fire Protection District responded alongside crews from the Idaho Department of Lands, and aerial units were deployed to address the fire from above.
Despite the dual threat — a fully involved three-story structure and an active wildland fire moving uphill — crews managed to contain the damage to the single residence. No additional homes were reported as damaged.
