Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre brings the blockbuster Disney musical to North Idaho audiences this week, with performances of Frozen at the Schuler Performing Arts Center on the North Idaho College campus through July 5. The production marks a major theatrical event for the Panhandle, featuring Broadway-quality staging, professional puppets, and a cast drawn from across the nation—including local talent from Coeur d’Alene and Dalton Gardens.

Cast and Production Details

The ensemble of performers includes Madi Barnes as Elsa and Ashley Cleveland, a Coeur d’Alene native, taking the role of Anna. Young versions of the characters are portrayed by Skye Shotwell and Stormy Christopherson. The supporting cast and ensemble represent a wide geographic reach, with performers traveling from New York, Washington D.C., California, Florida, and Alabama to participate in the summer run.

Chuck Ethridge, executive artistic director of Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, emphasized the production’s commitment to quality: “What drew us to Frozen is the same thing that has drawn audiences to it worldwide – its story about two sisters and what real love looks like.” He added that the organization invested in bringing “Broadway-quality set pieces, professional puppets, a Broadway-caliber creative team and a cast who can deliver this material at the highest level.”

Performance Schedule and Ticketing

The show runs through July 5, with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on July 1, 2, and 3, and a matinee at 2 p.m. on July 5. Tickets range from $50 to $192 and can be purchased online at cstidaho.com/tickets/frozen or at the box office.

The production represents a significant undertaking for the theater organization, which has been a fixture in North Idaho since its founding in 1967. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre contributes to the region’s cultural and economic vitality—part of a broader pattern of festivals and arts events that draw visitors and support local businesses throughout Kootenai County.

Significance for North Idaho

The arrival of Frozen at the Schuler Performing Arts Center signals continued momentum for arts programming in the region. The production’s scale—combining professional staging, ensemble talent, and a beloved story—offers Coeur d’Alene and surrounding communities access to entertainment typically reserved for larger metropolitan areas. For families and theatergoers across Kootenai County, the show provides an opportunity to experience Broadway-level production without traveling outside North Idaho.

Community organizations have long recognized the importance of theater access in the region, and this production underscores that commitment. The presence of local cast members also highlights opportunities for North Idaho talent to participate in professional-caliber productions.
