Hayden, Idaho, is moving toward a month-to-month law enforcement agreement with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office after a draft contract was submitted to the Kootenai County Board of Commissioners for review.
The Hayden City Council is scheduled to consider the agreement at its Oct. 27 meeting. The proposed contract addresses overtime billing, accountability and a direct overhead charge.
Hayden Law Enforcement Contract
Hayden said it was without a contract during October. Discussions also continue over possible back payments for that month.
If the county accepts the proposed terms, financial support for law enforcement services could resume immediately.
The city and county remain committed to public safety and to reaching an agreement acceptable to both sides.
