Hundreds Join Idaho Procession Through Coeur d’Alene Streets

Hundreds of residents lined and walked through the streets of Coeur d’Alene over the Memorial Day weekend as part of a community procession honoring the occasion. The event drew a large crowd through the heart of North Idaho’s largest city, reflecting the area’s strong tradition of public remembrance and civic participation.

Kootenai County communities have long marked Memorial Day with organized gatherings, and this year’s procession continued that tradition with notable turnout from residents across the region. Events like this reflect the deep ties between North Idaho families and military service — a tradition that remains a cornerstone of community identity in the Panhandle.

The procession added to a busy stretch of community activity in Coeur d’Alene, which has also seen recent milestones including the appointment of a new Coeur d’Alene Fire Chief and the start of preliminary work on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Coeur d’Alene Idaho Temple.
