Post Falls Motorcycle Crash on State Highway 41 Sends Rider to Hospital
A Post Falls woman was taken to the hospital Saturday evening after losing control of her motorcycle at the intersection of State Highway 41 and Mullan Avenue in Post Falls, Kootenai County.
Idaho State Police say the crash happened around 5:44 p.m. on May 16, 2026. The rider, a 46-year-old Post Falls resident, was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle making a northbound turn onto SH-41 from eastbound Mullan Avenue when she lost control and was thrown from the bike. Ground ambulance crews transported her to a local medical facility.
Emergency responders blocked northbound lanes on State Highway 41 for roughly two hours while clearing the scene and assisting the injured rider. The closure created a significant traffic disruption along one of Post Falls’ primary north-south corridors.
The incident remains under active investigation by Idaho State Police District 1, which covers Kootenai County and the broader North Idaho Panhandle region. Questions about the case can be directed to the district office in Coeur d’Alene.
The SH-41 corridor through Post Falls has seen consistent traffic growth in recent years as residential development has expanded in the area. Motorists are encouraged to use caution at busy intersections along the highway, particularly during evening hours.
This crash comes as public safety agencies across Kootenai County remain active. In a separate incident, a suspect was recently arrested in connection with a fatal shooting near Stateline Speedway. Meanwhile, local emergency services saw a leadership change this spring when Jon Fugitt was named the new Coeur d’Alene Fire Chief.
No additional details about the rider’s condition have been released. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
