Less than 100 days to the fair

North Idaho State Fair Less Than 100 Days Away, Featuring Rodeo, Concerts and New Attractions

With fewer than 100 days remaining until the North Idaho State Fair, organizers say excitement is mounting for one of the Panhandle’s largest annual events. The fair runs August 21–30 in Coeur d’Alene, offering 10 days of rodeo competition, live music, motorsports, and family entertainment under this year’s theme, “Fun Is in the Mix.”

What to Expect at the 2026 North Idaho State Fair

The opening weekend launches with two nights of motocross action on August 21 and 22, followed by the Demolition Derby on Sunday, August 23, at 4 p.m. in Findlay Arena. The PRCA Gem State Stampede Rodeo returns for five nights of western competition, featuring theme evenings such as Ag Night, Patriot Night, and Tough Enough to Wear Pink.

The Party in the Dirt Concert Series will bring nationally known country acts to Findlay Arena. Lee Brice is scheduled to perform Monday, August 24, and Walker Hayes follows on Tuesday, August 25. Concert tickets cover fair admission as well.

Free entertainment throughout the fairgrounds each day will include returning acts such as Tyzen the Master Hypnotist, Juggling with Jeremiah, and Curly’s Funtastic Kid Zone. Several attractions make their debut this year, among them Sea Lion Splash Shows, Brad’s World Reptiles, an Exotic Animal Petting Zoo, the Vuelta La Luna Circus, and the Farmer’s Daughter Show.

Community Tradition Rooted in Agriculture and Family

The North Idaho State Fair has long been a cornerstone of summer for Kootenai County families, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to celebrate agriculture, youth programs, and regional heritage. Local competitors have been a fixture of rodeo events — Tim Ditrich of Coeur d’Alene earned a 70-point ride in the saddle bronc competition during last year’s rodeo, the kind of hometown performance that keeps crowds returning season after season.

Fair spokeswoman Vanessa Brinkley described the event’s appeal in simple terms: “From rodeo and concerts to daily entertainment and agriculture, there truly is something for everyone.” She added that the fair is focused on “creating experiences families remember for years.”

For North Idaho residents looking for other outdoor activities this summer, the Bureau of Land Management recently reopened improved recreation sites across northern Idaho, offering additional options for Kootenai County families before the fair arrives in late August.

How to Get Tickets and Plan Your Visit

Arena event and concert tickets are available now at NISFair.fun. General fair admission covers all daily free entertainment across the grounds. With the August 21 opening date approaching, organizers encourage attendees to secure arena seats early, as the concert series and rodeo nights have historically drawn strong crowds to Findlay Arena.

The North Idaho State Fair remains a defining late-summer tradition for Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Rathdrum, and communities throughout Kootenai County and the broader Panhandle region.
