Construction began on the Prairie Medical Campus in Post Falls, a joint venture between Kootenai Health and MultiCare Health System that will bring expanded healthcare services to one of Kootenai County’s fastest-growing communities.
The 30-acre campus is expected to create hundreds of healthcare jobs and provide services that residents previously had to travel to Spokane to access. The project was cited by economic development officials as one of the most significant private investments in North Idaho in recent years.
The healthcare sector was identified as one of the region’s strongest growth areas heading into 2026, with the medical campus expected to serve as an anchor for continued development in the Post Falls corridor.
