Rathdrum Motorcyclist Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 95 in North Idaho

A 63-year-old Rathdrum man died Tuesday afternoon in a collision on U.S. Highway 95 in Benewah County, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred at 2:38 p.m. near milepost 395 on the highway when a 25-year-old Plummer woman driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee turned left onto Seltice Avenue while traveling southbound. The motorcyclist, riding a 2026 Honda motorcycle northbound, could not stop in time and struck the Jeep.

Idaho State Police responded to investigate the two-vehicle crash. No additional details about contributing factors or citations have been released.

This marks another serious collision on the heavily traveled corridor connecting Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, and surrounding Kootenai County communities. Similar accidents on U.S. 95 near Seltice Avenue have claimed lives in recent months, highlighting ongoing safety concerns on the route.
