Court documents identify the alleged victim as Aaron Dyk’s daughter. Aaron Dyk admitted hitting the girl with a belt for what he described as “disciplinary reasons.”

The girl suffered bruising across her back and legs. Her injuries were causing her kidneys to fail, according to the available case information.

Officers responded after receiving reports that the girl was having a seizure. She was verbally unresponsive when officers arrived. She was initially taken to Kootenai Health and later transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said no additional information would be released at that time.
