Shoshone Medical Center (SMC) has entered a partnership with Kootenai Imaging to expand radiology capabilities in Idaho’s Silver Valley, according to reporting by cdapress.com. The collaboration aims to streamline diagnostic services for local residents.
Enhancing Diagnostic Efficiency
SMC CEO Shane Sanborn announced the agreement on Wednesday. The arrangement merges SMC’s existing imaging infrastructure with Kootenai Imaging’s specialized radiology staff. Officials indicated the move is designed to boost operational efficiency and improve the quality of image interpretations.
Faster turnaround times for diagnostic results are a primary objective. Quicker data delivery allows healthcare providers to make timely clinical decisions, ensuring patients receive necessary care without delay. Kootenai Imaging, a joint venture with Kootenai Health, is recognized in the region for some of the fastest diagnostic reporting speeds.
Broadening Local Healthcare Services
This partnership coincides with recent service expansions at SMC. The facility has recently broadened its offerings in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment. Additionally, SMC reported growth in wound care, cardiac rehabilitation, pulmonary rehabilitation, and endoscopy services.
“Our goal is simple: to provide our patients with the highest quality care possible, right here in the Silver Valley,” Sanborn told the Coeur d’Alene Press.
Scott Venera, a practice administrator at Kootenai Imaging, emphasized the team’s commitment to the region. “We are excited to become part of the Shoshone Medical Center team and look forward to helping the community by providing quality medical imaging in a timely manner,” Venera said.
