A joint drug investigation by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of more than one ounce of methamphetamine, along with drug packaging materials and paraphernalia.
Officers initiated the investigation with a traffic stop targeting a suspected drug dealer. A K9 unit detected methamphetamine in the vehicle, which was determined to have been prepared for sale.
Arrests and Search Results
Anthony L. Mensik was arrested following the vehicle stop. Law enforcement then executed a search warrant at Mensik’s residence on North Kimberly Lane in Post Falls, where they discovered William Sykes, described as a known drug dealer, living on the property.
The search of the home yielded more than one ounce of methamphetamine, hundreds of bags used for packaging drugs, scales, and additional drug paraphernalia. Sykes was arrested for drug trafficking and other charges.
A third individual, Shawn Higgins, was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance based on information obtained during the Sykes arrest.

The coordinated action reflects continuing efforts by local law enforcement to address drug distribution in Kootenai County. The Sheriff’s Office and Coeur d’Alene Police regularly collaborate on investigations targeting trafficking operations in the North Idaho region.
