Idaho will receive nearly $186 million for rural healthcare through the Rural Health Transformation Program, the Trump administration announced. The fiscal year 2026 funding is intended to improve healthcare access across rural Idaho.
Idaho Rural Healthcare Funding
Idaho committed the full $186 million allocation to rural healthcare. The money will support workforce expansion, improvements to rural facilities, updated healthcare technology, new care and payment models, and community-based and preventive care.
Gov. Brad Little said affordable and accessible healthcare remains a concern for many Idaho families, particularly those living in rural areas.

The program was enabled by the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which provides a $50 billion investment to help states transform healthcare delivery.
U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo said additional funding will become available over the next few years and said the program will permanently increase access to high-quality healthcare across Idaho.
U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson described the initiative as the largest investment in rural healthcare in American history.
