Kootenai County District Court Public Legal Notices for May 12, 2026

The Kootenai County District Court has published its official legal notices for May 12, 2026, as required by Idaho law. The notices include a name change petition, two summons by publication in a breach of contract case, and a judicial foreclosure action in neighboring Shoshone County. Residents of Coeur d’Alene and surrounding North Idaho communities are encouraged to review any notices that may affect their interests.

Name Change Petition Before Kootenai County Court

A Coeur d’Alene resident, Trey Jensen Kimmel, has filed a petition with the First Judicial District Court in Kootenai County, Idaho, seeking a legal name change to Trey Kimmel Jensen. Court records indicate the request is being pursued for personal and professional reasons.

A hearing on the matter is set for 1:30 p.m. on May 26, 2026, at the Kootenai County Courthouse. Idaho law allows any person with a valid legal objection to the name change to file that objection with the court prior to the hearing. The case is filed under Case No. CV28-26-2661. Jennifer Locke serves as Clerk of the District Court, with Deputy Clerk Bobee Deglman signing the published notice.

Breach of Contract Suit Filed Against Specialty Construction

Two summons by publication have been issued in a civil breach of contract case filed in the Kootenai County District Court. Plaintiff Doug M. Parker has brought suit against Specialty Construction, Inc., an Idaho corporation, and Jeramey Gilbreath, an individual, under Case No. CV28-26-1111.

Both defendants are being notified through court-ordered publication, meaning they could not be served through standard means. Under Idaho law, either defendant has 21 days from the final publication date of the summons to file a written response with the court. Failure to do so may result in a default judgment being entered against them without further notice.

Parties wishing to respond may contact the Kootenai County District Court Clerk at 324 W. Garden Ave., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814, or by phone at (208) 446-1160. The plaintiff’s legal counsel is Peter J. Smith IV of Fennemore Craig P.C., located at 233 E. Harrison Avenue in Coeur d’Alene. Deputy Clerk Kourtney French signed both summons notices, dated April 14, 2026.

Judicial Foreclosure Action Filed in Shoshone County

A separate legal notice published alongside the Kootenai County filings involves a judicial foreclosure action in Shoshone County. Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc. has filed suit seeking declaratory relief and foreclosure on property located at 112 1st St., Wallace, Idaho 83873. The action names the unknown heirs, assigns, and devisees of Robert T. Pimbley, as well as Umpqua Bank, as defendants.

The case, filed under Case No. CV40-25-0676 in the First Judicial District Court for Shoshone County, involves real property legally described as portions of Block 4, Sister’s Addition in Shoshone County. Any party with a legal interest in the property has 21 days following the final publication date to file a response with the Shoshone County District Court Clerk at 700 Bank St., Suite 120, Wallace, Idaho 83873, reachable at (208) 752-1264. Plaintiff’s counsel is Sydney K. Leavitt of Aldridge Pite, LLP, in Meridian, Idaho.
