Fall sports practices kicked off Monday across Idaho high schools, with Lake City High School’s football program opening workouts under the direction of newly hired quarterbacks coach Michael Goggin. Goggin, a 2015 Lake City graduate who played college football at Idaho State, returns to his alma mater to work with senior quarterback Britton Johnston and the Eagles roster.
Lake City will open its 2026 football season on August 21 against Boise High. The Eagles roster includes senior Marek Parson among its returning contributors as the program prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Goggin’s appointment marks a continuity move for the Eagles program, bringing in a coach with both local roots and college-level playing experience. Other North Idaho high schools have similarly made coaching adjustments heading into the fall season, with programs across Kootenai County and the Panhandle ramping up preparations.
