The Post Falls Historical Society is hosting “Through Her Lens,” an evening celebrating the photographic work of Margaret Evarts, a Post Falls native whose camera documented decades of North Idaho history. The exhibition opens Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Post Falls Museum, featuring selections from Evarts’ career as a studio operator, freelance photographer, and photofinisher alongside her husband Neal.
Evarts managed Evarts Studio for more than 50 years before her death in 2019. Her lens captured pivotal moments in the region’s public life, including coverage of the Philip Linquist murder trial and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe’s annual Cataldo pilgrimage—work that provides a visual record of Post Falls and surrounding Kootenai County through much of the 20th century.
The evening will include appetizers and wine. Admission is $20 per ticket, with proceeds supporting the Post Falls Museum and Historical Society’s operations and preservation efforts.
